Pakistan builds plutonium reactor

So what's going to be the reaction of US ? Country like Pakistan running a nuclear walmart is rewarded with billions of dollars in Aid and arms for further "strengthening" and more arms and dollars for "supposedly cooperating in war against terrorism" whatever it means.

For being a responsible nuclear country what did we get ? CTBT through backdoor and a grand plan in the US senate to "cap and eliminate" our nuclear program. And our Govt without neither a strategy nor a vision of national security, agreed to the deal without any ratification by our own Parliament.

Now what's going to be the reaction of the stupids in Indian Govt ? Most probably nothing.

Let's leave history behind: Kasuri to India

Mr Kasuri wants India to forget about Kargil otherwise they will take up Siachen issue. I fail to understand what is there with Siachen. They just want us to pull out our troops so that they can pull out theirs from Siachen. Going by the history and the nature of the neighbor, it is dangerous for us to pull out of Siachen. If they don't have resources to man their side near Siachen, it's their problem and not ours. We've the resources and we must defend our side. We can't pull out just because you wanted us to and there is no guarantee that another Kargil type of misadventure will be repeated by Pakistan. But we can assure that we wouldn't do a thing like that.

Now going to back to Kargil, now that everything is in the open that it was designed, planned, directed and executed by the current President of Pakistan with (or without as per the former PM) the former PM in the loop. Doesn't it require a formal apology to India from your president in front of the International community. All along Pak maintained that their army was not involved and I said earlier, they didn't accept the bodies of their own dead soldiers.

And do we really need to engage in peace talks with a country headed by an Army General who managed the Kargil misadventure against us ?

AAMIR KHAN SPEAKS

An interesting link on Kashmir Herald. Let's hope he delivers what he meant and prove his secular credentials, neutrality or nationalism, whatever it means.

------------------
BUT DID HE MEAN IT AND WOULD HE DELIVER?

On June 1, 2006, Indian movie star Aamir Khan promised that he "will" speak on behalf of Kashmiri Hindus who have been ethnically cleansed from their homeland in Kashmir. Click here to read the press report.

Now, let us keep it in mind that he did this only after he got lot of flak for his comments against Gujarat government on the issue of Narmada Dam. We believe that this is Aamir's gimmick to do some damage control and portray himself as a secular Indian. We would like to see when and how he would take up the cause of Kashmiri Hindus. And thus we have started a clock to count how many days it will be before he really speaks up for Kashmiri Hindus.

So how much time it has been since June 1, 2006?

51 days, 12 hour(s), 17 minute(s), 35 second(s)

and counting.....

Has Aamir spoken yet?

We haven't heard yet.

IGNOU books insulting Gods: BJP

When Hindus all over the world are fighting for the misrepresentation of Hinduism in the academic materials, we're being stabbed on the back by our own Government and the Education departments.

People must sue the Govt, HRD ministry and NCERT at the earliest possible. Prominent lawyers must raise to the occassion challenging and exposing this Govt's anti-majority practices and to defend the rights of the majority. Are only minorities entitiled for all the rights in this country ? What about majority rights ?

Astrologer linked with Jaimala: Sabarimala priest

Expressindia news item.

Probably that explains the finding of the Astrologer and the quick response by fax by this actress. There appears to be a bigger conspiracy to malign and defame the holy temple in a vain act to show the world that the Hinduism oppresses women.

The Priest has raised many valid points:
1. The astrologer has business links with the actress. He also wondered if he has links with the TDB
2. The prasnam was performed on a day of Avittam star which is inauspicious
3. The Devaprasnam is usually done when any untoward incident happens. "As everything was going fine, what was the necessity for a Devaprasnam?"
4. Two Devaprasnams conducted in 1996 and 2001 did not find out that women have visited the shrine.

Peace process still on: India - Are we nuts ?

It is crazy, it is insane. No sane country would proceed with the peace process with such an hostile neighbor even after so many such terrorist attacks all over the country. Take a look at the events following the blasts:

1. Congrats calls made to Pak and Bangladesh after the blasts.

2. Pakistan PM's statement that the blasts were due to the unresolved disputes. Does it ring a bell ?

3. Musharraf's admission that the Kargil operation was pre-planned. All along, their official position was that Pak army never intruded into Indian territory and it was only the handiwork of the terrorists., and they justified it by not accepting the bodies of their own dead soldiers. But now everything is in the open. Do we still need diplomatic relations with a country that is led by the architect of Kargil war ?

It's time that Indian Govt to act tough. Give a free hand to Indian Army and instill terror in the minds of seperatists or terrorists (including the domestic ones like the naxalites who enjoy the support of the commies). They must think twice before even attempting to commit any atrocities in Indian soil or against any Indian instituitions anywhere in the world. Learn from leaders like Putin of Russia who ordered his people to take out those responsible for the death of 4 Russians recently in Iraq. Setup an elite task force under the leadership of people like KPS Gill to systematically wipe out all the antinational elements in and out of the country.

If we don't do it, we will be taken for granted forever and the sacrifices of the soldiers and the civilians who lost their lives will be in vain.

No one can make India kneel: PM - but his Govt will ?

But your Government will, won't it PM ? Even after such a horrible thing that has happened, there were not even strong words, let alone taking action.

And the funny qoutes from the magazines and the politicians as usual on the next day of the blasts -

Mumbai limping back to normalcy

I salute the resiliency of the people.

What the hell do you expect from the people ? If they don't go to work, they can't eat and their families will suffer. Is the Govt going to feed them if they just take a couple of days off fearing further blasts ? It doesn't mean that the loss and sufferings of the families who had lost their near and dear are gone.

Any small country will stand up against such inhuman acts. We're only warriors of words (now not even that) and not in action anymore.

Interestingly the foreign secretary said that there would be a review of CBMs with PAK and ties with Bangladesh. This is not the time to just consider reviewing. India must immediately do the following:

1. Scrap the peace process and all the CBMs
2. Revoke the MFN status given to Pakistan
3. No more trains or buses or even flights to Pakistan and Bangladesh
4. Pak and Bangladesh airlines' flights must not be allowed to fly on Indian skies
5. Pak and Bangladesh's ships must not use Indian waters
6. Stop all exports and imports to/from these countries
7. Close our Embassies and consulates in both these countries and also ask their consulates or embassies to leave in the next 48 hours.
8. Officially announce that we do not recognize these two countries any more.
9. Order all citizens of these countries to leave within a week.
10. Seal the borders, anybody trying to cross the border must be shot down. No more arresting and feeding them in the jails.

A Govt is supposed to protect the people. As the former chief justice of Indian Supreme Court Mr Lahoti mentioned - “Has anyone thought why there has not been a single instance of terror in USA post-9/11 unlike India where such attacks occur almost every day? The difference lies in the desire to study the problem scientifically and take remedial measures. We do not have the political will to fight terrorism"

AIIMS - office of profit - Should Anbumani go ?

It has been known that Dr Anbumani had been staying in AIIMS hostel or guest-house and probably his staff. Docs at AIIMS claim that even his relatives stay there. May be they all eat from AIIMS kitchen. This means he is probably making profit out of this. Yes - boarding and lodging especially in an expensive place like Delhi. Is Election Commission going to look into this ?

In a related one, the docs of AIIMS have opened another pandora box.

1. They claim that the AIIMS comes under office of profit act. And being President of AIIMS (by the virtue of being Health Minister) violates the office of profit act.

2. Dr Anbumani went on treating the patients in AIIMS when the docs were on strike. Has he been registered as a physician in Delhi ? Can any Doctor from the streets come into AIIMS and start treating the patients ?

Has anyone seen the Prime Minister of India ?

Is he in the hiding or on the run when his cabinet ministers are sabotaging the democratic system and bullying around in the country ? He is not there in the picture when everyone wanted him to intervene with the stupid, autocratic decisions being taken by his ministers.

If anyone sees him, please show him the directions to the PM office in New Delhi where he was supposed to be the Prime Minister of this great country and also advice him either not to shy away from his responsibilities or quit if he couldn't handle it anymore.

How Pakistan manipulates PoK polls

For a change, the international human rights group did (manage to ?) look into the POK side of the so called autonomy or freedom struggle story.

It is interesting to note that they even have a law for pre-screening the candidates to ensure that only those supporting Kashmir's union to Pakistan will be allowed to contest. Can someone sane believe in the "moral support" provided to the "freedom struggle" in the Kashmir ?

'Infiltration has gone up in Kashmir' - CM

The JK CM has admitted that the infiltration had gone up four-fold in the past three to four months.

So much for the CBMs (Confidence Building measures). Are they enabling people-to-people contact or fecilitating some other contacts that would justify his admission ?

The only solution is to abolish Article 370. There will be a lot of opposition to this from those who don't have a clue of national security or nationalism. On a balance, detach Jammu and Ladakh from the state and "Truly" integrate those regions to the motherland by abolishing 370 in those regions. Let the valley people decide their own fate. Hindus and Buddhists in Jammu and Ladakh regions always wanted to be integral part of our nation. It was a very stupid and idiotic decision taken in the Nehruvian era to attach those regions with the valley. People in these regions have never had a proper representation. No Hindu or Buddhist had ever become a CM of this state. The entire state is being dominated by just the valley.

DMK threatens, PM succumbs, Divestments on hold

Way to go for the "supposedly" great economist and reformist PM - can you believe these adjectives with which some hail him, this is a person who argued so favorably to socialism weeks before he became FM in 90's.

What Mr Singh failed to understand was the stake that DMK has in the present Govt. It is holding a very important portfolio for a good reason - Telecom ministry. Accepting a person who has a business interests in telecom industry as a telecom minister, in itself is a great conflict of interest. Can we except morals or ethics or professionalism in this Govt anyway ? It's very hard to believe that DMK would forgo this ministry at this juncture and it is not very hard to believe that we have the weakest Prime Minister.

AIIMS director Venugopal sacked

In a "not unanimous" decision and without voting, the AIIMS has fired Dr Venugopal. This is like the emergency days, beware you will be fired if you show dissent or oppose the Govt. This is totally unbecoming of democracy.

In a related incident, Dr Rajasekaran who is a close relative of the Health Minister has been appointed as Chairman of selection committee. There was a petition filed in the court for a clear demarcation of powers between the health minister and the director of AIIMS. This petition was dismissed by the Delhi court.

From Indian Express
" Seven representatives from the institute signed the petition, filed by head of the neurosurgery department Dr Kale. It challenges the inclusion of the minister as well as Health Secretary P K Hota in the governing body. It says any such appointment is contrary to the autonomous character of AIIMS as envisaged under Section 4(E) of the institute.

The petition also challenges the selection of Dr Rajashekharan (a close relative of the Health Minister) as chairman of the selection committee. It seeks a direction to the Centre for constituting a high-level committee of eminent persons to manage the affairs of AIIMS to protect its ‘autonomous character’. "

Going by the mentality of vengeance and hatred towards the opposing voices, probably these representatives including Dr Kale may also be fired in the days to come.

This is sick, this is gross, manipulative, vindicative, destructive and what not. With all these we have a spineless Prime minister with no leadership qualities. Does he ever bother about the conflict of interests of his cabinet members ?

The docs are on strike again, and may probably lose their salaries as well.
Cry my beloved Indians for electing such a Government !!!!

Want PhD, you better convert

Mission(ary) Targets: Thirumala, Sabarimala and then entire India ??

It was alleged that the vice-chancellors of Padmavathy and Venkatesware Universities are putting pressure on students to convert, else the students wouldn't get their doctorates ? Are they vice-chancellors or missionaries ? Is the Andhra Govt headed by Dr Y. Samual Rajasekar Reddy (not many know his full name) pushing the agenda of the missionaries through the universities by appointing such people as Vice-Chancellors ?

--------------------------
Seers to discuss missionary activities 7/4/2006 2:32:10 AM
- By Bhaskar Hegde

Bangalore, July 3: Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of the Pejawar Mutt on Monday announced that the pontiffs of Hindu mutts would meet in Tirupati on July 15 to discuss the activities of Christian missionaries, including attempts to convert Hindus in Tirumala and Tirupati.

The swami, while speaking to reporters, said it was disturbing that Christian missionaries had selected these places to carry out conversions. "We will meet in Hyderabad on July 11, and then in Tirupati on July 15, to chalk out our course of action," he said. He was speaking after receiving a report from a fact-finding committee on this issue and sent by him to Tirupati. The committee visited Tirumala and Tirupati last month and held meetings with people there before preparing the report, he disclosed.

"As a Hindu saint, I am worried about the conversion activity taking place there, which was why I constituted the committee to look into the matter," he said.

Mr D. Bheemasena Rao, the convenor of the Tirumala Tirupati Samrakshana Samithi, said the July 15 meeting is likely to chalk out a mass awareness programme against conversion. Retired Andhra Pradesh director-general of police T.S. Rao, who was a member of the fact-finding committee, claimed that 15 to 20 families in Tirumala have been converted in the past two years. He alleged that the vice-chancellors of the Padmavathy and Venkateshwara Universities were using coercive methods to convert students to Christianity. "During public interactions, we were told that students who had enrolled for PhDs were being pressured to convert. They have even been told that they would not get their doctorate unless they converted," he claimed.

Dravida University former vice-chancellor R. Srihari maintained that Christian missionaries had chosen some important places of worship in Andhra Pradesh as part of their strategy, which was why they had moved to Tirumala and Tirupati for this exercise.

Ruckus over Jesus near Hanuman idol

Can anyone imagine what would have happened, had it been the other way around ? how would the protectors of the minority rights have reacted ?

---------------------------------
Ruckus over Jesus near Hanuman

Warangal, July 1: Framed pictures of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary in the Thousand Pillars Temple complex at Hanamkonda shocked hundreds of devotees here on Saturday morning. The picture of Christ was found right under the banyan tree near the famous Hanuman idol where prayers are offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The devotees immediately alerted the temple authorities.

Untouchability, discrimation against women - What ?

How imaginative these congress stooges are ??

Mr S Patil, Congress MLA has compared restriction of women into Sabarimala to untouchability and urged the centre to take up the issue with Kerala Government and one Mallikarjuna Kharge of the same party called it discrimination against women and went one step further that such discrimination was made against a kannadiga. Hello...can they just step back and read their own statements once ? how stupid ?

If there is a norm laid out for ages, you better follow it. When crores and crores of Hindus don't have a problem with it, why are these so-called representatives of the people making a fuss about it instead of condemning the actress who violated the sanctity of the temple ?

If this actress is a really sincere devotee of Lord Ayyappa, she wouldn't have dared to enter the temple first and then confess after the Prasnam was performed after 19 years. Any Sane Hindu women will never even think about entering the Sabarimala temple. One should seriously take a look at this actor's credentials. Either she is insane to gain some cheap popularity or not an Hindu.

How was she able to enter the temple, was she in a disguise with something she had borrowed from her make-up man ? Even if she had cheated and managed to enter the temple, it would be absolutely impossible to go near the Swamy, how can she touch the feet of the Ayyappa Swamy ? It appears to be a part of a big conspiracy being hatched to demean the Great Temple of Sabarimala where crores of people worship the God every year and where everyone is equal - irrespective of their caste or financial status.

These politicians should better shut-up questioning the traditions and customs of the temple and better focus on your constituencies from which the people have elected you. If you're so interested in religious matters, don't discriminate Hinduism against other religions. Hinduism is the only religion where there is NO discrimination between men and women, whereas it is not in the other religions.

The temple board, priests and every Hindu must rubbish and discredit the claims of this actor. There has been systematic attacks on Hinduism and they're only rising at an alarming rate. All Hindus must rise up to protect of our revered religion and the motherland which has given so much to the entire humanity, be it the Vedas or DharmaShastras or yoga. Without the religion, there is no identity.
