Mumbai police cracks 7/11 blasts case

Addressing media persons, Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy said Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence was the 'mastermind' behind the terror attacks carried out by Lashkar-e-Tayiba with help from Students of Islamic Movement of India activists.

Is Dr Singh "supposedly PM of India" listening to this ? Does he still stand by his statement that Pak was also a victim of terror from its own ISI and his clean chit almost absolving Pak from terrorist acts in our country ? How stupid ? Isn't it a tight slap on his face who proposed a joint anti-terror mechanism undermining our own agencies ?

'Lot of fabrication' in Musharraf's book: Gen Malik

One could only pity the publisher who had allegedly paid more than a million for a book of lies. Let's not worry about that. Our concern must be whether India should engage in talks with Pak with such a liar as its head ?

I still remember the days of Kargil war, when Pak refused to accept the bodies of their own dead regular soldiers and Indian army gave an honorable burial to those soldiers.

Pak during and after the war maintained that its army was not involved in this operation and hence accepting of those bodies would mean that it was lying about the involvement of its army. Till the war of words between Nawaz Sharif and Musharraf recently, this was Pak's stand. Musharraf in his own words and his book had accepted that Pak army was involved and he was the architect of the operation.

-----------------
From Rediff.com
Describing Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf as a timid general, former Indian Army chief Gen V P Malik on Tuesday said there was a lot of fabrication about the Kargil conflict in his book In the Line of Fire.

"The book is stingy on truth. From the accounts I have read, it appears to be a narration with no references and there appears to be a lot of fabrication," Malik, who was the army chief during the 1999 conflict, told PTI.

On Musharraf's claims that the then Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had decided to withdraw troops from strategic features in Kargil sector, Malik said, "In his book Musharraf comes across as a timid general and seems to be passing the buck to Sharif."

Dismissing claims of mujahideen carrying out the Kargil operation, he said Musharraf in his book had admitted to the participation of the Northern Light Infantry in the fighting, supported by other regular troops.

Violence has reduced in J&K: PM - Is that true Mr PM ?

Neither IB thinks so nor the defence ministry. Appears that the PM's stockholm syndrome has intensified. He and his cabinet ministers are in different planes. Either he doesn't know the reality or doesn't want to see what he doesn't want to, in the backdrop of his recent agreement with the Pak president.

Also he considers the incidents of violence and terrorism as some stray incidents - may be he can give a new definition of what is terrorist act and what is a stray incident ? Loss of lives of citizens seem to be a stray incident for the honorable prime minister.

Dr Singh's Stockholm Syndrome

B Raman in Rediff.com, doesn't mince words in highlighting the stupidity of the Govt in setting up the joint anti-terror mechanism with Pak when the west is growing wary of the Pak General's sincerety in his support to war on terrorism.

He even compares this to a scenario in which Bush and Blair accepting a proposal from the Laden for a joint anti-terrorism cooperation mechanism.

He also emphasizes the fact that there has not been a single instance in which the Paks have extended a legal assistance since its formation in 1947.

Excerpts from the article:
---
At a time when a growing number of Western analysts and policy-makers have begun doubting the sincerity of Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf and suspecting that he has been playing a double role -- openly as a front-line ally in the war against terrorism and covertly as a supporter of Pakistan-based jihadi terrorists -- our prime minister has sought to play down the extent of Musharraf's perfidy with regard to jihadi terrorism directed against India from Pakistani territory with the help of organisations such as Lashkar which operate under the control of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence.

It is apparent that the prime minister has no meaningful policy to propose to the people to deal with jihadi terrorism. He does not know how to deal with Musharraf.

Indo-Pak foreign secy-level talks to resume

Same s***, different day. So much for the lives lost and so much for the rhetoric of Mr Singh. Let's expect more buses, more cricket, movies, high profile visits, bollywood star visits and writings about the hospitality they received from their hosts across the border or the talks about feel at home in Lahore and life goes on..... There is no value for the citizens who lost their lives in the dastardly acts of terrorism or the soldiers dying everyday defending the nation.

In a related note, Singh and Musharraf decided to put in place an "India-Pakistan anti-terrorism institutional mechanism to identify and implement counter-terrorism initiatives and investigations." - Wow what a brilliant idea ? This is the height of stupidity. If Singh doesn't know how to run the country, he'd better step down. He and supposedly his Govt on the record accused Pak for sponsoring cross-border terrorism in the wake of bomb blasts all around the country and now he wants a joint setup with the same country for anti-terror mechanism. Are they trying to make a fool of themselves or our nation ?

NCERT bookmarks Godhra, Sikh riots, and Emergency too

Very interesting topics in the political science text books of Grade 12. BTW do they have Artha Sastra in the syllabus ?

"However, the textbook writers will steer clear of any controversy and give information from Government sources."

- So we can assume that the students will get the real picture :)

"
"You cannot teach Political Science to students sidestepping the major events, which had significant influence on society and polity, no matter whether controversial or not," said Professor Yogendra Yadav, a member of the panel for preparation of Political Science textbooks.
"

- May be the NCERT should as a top priority talk about votebank politics, politics of dividing the country by religion and castes etc., and its influence on society.

"
The topics would give the established facts taken from Government sources, which cannot be disputed by anybody, he said adding that the text would also refrain from going into full details of the incidents.
"

- Don't go into full details ? NCERT should understand that studying is different from reading. You're talking about the curriculum of 12th Grade students.

"
The chapter on Gujarat riots will deal with an overview of the incident and the largescale killing of "people of a particular community", he said.
"

- Did he mean roasting of 59 people belonging to a community in the train ? Can someone explain this statement ?

"The topic will also give a human rights view and a counterview on the incident,"

- Do Hindus have human rights in India ? Last time I checked, they didn't have one.
