NCERT bookmarks Godhra, Sikh riots, and Emergency too

Very interesting topics in the political science text books of Grade 12. BTW do they have Artha Sastra in the syllabus ?

"However, the textbook writers will steer clear of any controversy and give information from Government sources."

- So we can assume that the students will get the real picture :)

"
"You cannot teach Political Science to students sidestepping the major events, which had significant influence on society and polity, no matter whether controversial or not," said Professor Yogendra Yadav, a member of the panel for preparation of Political Science textbooks.
"

- May be the NCERT should as a top priority talk about votebank politics, politics of dividing the country by religion and castes etc., and its influence on society.

"
The topics would give the established facts taken from Government sources, which cannot be disputed by anybody, he said adding that the text would also refrain from going into full details of the incidents.
"

- Don't go into full details ? NCERT should understand that studying is different from reading. You're talking about the curriculum of 12th Grade students.

"
The chapter on Gujarat riots will deal with an overview of the incident and the largescale killing of "people of a particular community", he said.
"

- Did he mean roasting of 59 people belonging to a community in the train ? Can someone explain this statement ?

"The topic will also give a human rights view and a counterview on the incident,"

- Do Hindus have human rights in India ? Last time I checked, they didn't have one.
